About the opportunity:
Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental and physical aspects of psychological problems for patients seeking psychiatric help. Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results on patients. This position will maintain a minimum 32 billable clinical hours across a community behavioral health population and clinic sites.
What you will do:
Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other necessary persons; conducting physical examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; selecting, administering, and interpreting psychological tests; and ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
Position is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive medical and clinical services and/or curriculum and ensuring all service delivery is evidence-based and aligned with all state, local, federal, and regulatory requirements. This includes treating patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications; discussing progress toward goals with patients; providing instructions; monitoring effect of medications.
Prescribe medication that can alter chemical imbalances affecting the patient?s state of mind and behavior
Provides clinical training to staff members on various medical and behavioral health subjects to include medication management and psychiatric evaluations
Serves as a liaison with other psychiatric staff and consultants and provides coverage for those persons
Collaborate with external behavioral health support entities for patient care
This position will maintain a comprehensive caseload that is based on community need, patient population need, and services will be delivered across all Outpatient Clinics.
Maintains excellence in clinical documentation in alignment with local, internal, state, federal, and regulatory standards and compliance.

What you will need:
Experience:
Extensive experience providing and supervising psychiatric services, prescribing psychotropic medication, performing psychiatric evaluations, and treating a wide variety of patient diagnoses/complaints
Knowledge of DSM V diagnoses
Knowledge of evidence-based practices
Displays strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills
Professionalism and ability to be discreet with confidential and sensitive issues
Ability to perform multiple tasks
Ability to foster professional and productive relationships
Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
License:
Valid state of Colorado Medical License as an PMHNP
Current DEA with no restrictions on prescribing controlled substances
Eligible for Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement

Computer and typing proficiency
Education:
Graduation from an accredited psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) program or the equivalent.
