Position Overview
The Department of Human Sciences in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University invites candidates to apply for a full-time (12-month) clinical-track assistant professor position in Couple and Family Therapy (CFT) in the Human Development and Family Science Program to complement and extend our accredited CFT PhD and CFT Master’s degree programs.
This position will begin in August of 2026. The CFT programs trains graduate students to employ foundational and evidence-based clinical practices in a variety of contexts, including at the OSU CFT Clinic which serves 200-300 clients per year, in established integrated health care settings (i.e., Nationwide Children’s Hospital, OSU Wexner Medical Center), and community mental health (i.e., Guidestone) settings.
The candidate is expected to teach master’s and doctoral courses in couple and family therapy; supervise master’s and doctoral students; develop graduate level courses; have an interest in conducting and overseeing clinical research at the OSU CFT Clinic; contribute to the ongoing accreditation of the master’s and doctoral programs; and participate in Department, College, and professional service activities.

Education and Experience Requirements
Required
At the time of appointment, candidates are required to have a doctorate in couple and family therapy/marriage and family therapy/medical family therapy, clinical member of AAMFT, and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor/Candidate.
Successful candidates must have a commitment to clinical training and supervision with couples and families. Candidates must have experience teaching and supervising and a commitment to advising/mentorship of master’s students.
Desired
Candidates with experience teaching couple and family therapy courses are preferred; with interest and/or experience supervising practicum and teaching telehealth, ethics, child/adolescent therapy, sex therapy, and
assessment and measurement are preferred but not required. Interest in program administration/leadership is also desirable.
